What Is Anti-Wrinkle Treatment?
Anti-wrinkle treatments are conducted with the intention of making the skin look smoother, tighter, and more lifted by relaxing the facial muscles and increasing collagen production. These semi-permanent treatments are often used as an alternative to cosmetic facial surgery.

All of our anti-wrinkle treatments are performed by qualified medical professionals who have undergone additional training to provide anti-wrinkle treatment.

In addition to softening fine lines and wrinkles, anti-wrinkle treatments may also be recommended by medical professionals for medicinal purposes to reduce symptoms associated with various conditions such as temporomandibular disorder (TMD), excessive sweating, muscle spasm, and chronic migraines.

What Is Anti-Wrinkle Treatment Made From?
We offer several options for anti-wrinkle treatments. Most anti-wrinkle treatments are offered on a prescription only basis (this includes Botox) meaning we will only ever provide anti-wrinkle treatments after an in-person consultation with one of our dentists qualified in administering anti-wrinkle treatment.

What your anti-wrinkle treatment is made from will depend on the type of anti-wrinkle treatment recommended by your dentist based on your examination and medical history.

What Should I Expect From Anti-Wrinkle Treatment?
Anti-wrinkle treatments are quick and simple procedures when performed by qualified medical professionals. Here’s what to expect:

Step 1 – Consultation
This step is the most important of all. Anti-wrinkle treatments cannot be administered without a consultation first. During your consultation, one of our friendly dental professionals with a full qualification in facial aesthetics and anti-wrinkle treatments will discuss your health, your medical history, and the results you’re hoping to accomplish with your treatment. The person performing your consultation will be the same person performing your treatment, meaning you’ll get to know your medically qualified aesthetics practitioner to allow you to feel comfortable and confident in their skills.

We want you to feel safe whenever you’re with us, so feel free to ask us as many questions as you need about the treatment, our skills, and our experience.

Step 2 – Treatment
Once you’ve decided you’re ready to go ahead with treatment, we’ll get you booked in. Your treatment appointment starts with a local anaesthetic numbing cream to reduce pain. Then, we will administer a series of small injections to your chosen area. This can take between 30 minutes to an hour.

Step 3 – Recovery
After having anti-wrinkle treatment, we recommend taking it easy for the first few days. Do not touch the area as this can cause the anti-wrinkle treatment to spread to other areas of your face.

Why Shouldn’t I Get Anti-Wrinkle Treatments From A Beauty Salon?
Most anti-wrinkle treatments are considered prescription-only medication, and should only be supplied by a qualified medical professional, but some beauty salons have found ways around these rules. Once someone has acquired the anti-wrinkle treatment, there’s no rules that say it has to be administered by a medical professional, only prescribed. This can lead to beauty salons offering anti-wrinkle treatments, but without having the necessary medical qualifications, leading to much greater risks of something going wrong.

Much like you wouldn’t get medicine from anyone who isn’t a doctor, you shouldn’t get anti-wrinkle treatment from someone who isn’t medically qualified.

At Synergy, all our anti-wrinkle treatments are administered by our dentists. We are qualified doctors of medicine, and have additional qualifications in the administering of facial aesthetics injections. We have a high level of understanding of the potential medical complications anti-wrinkle treatments can cause, and put patient safety as our top priority.

Never get anti-wrinkle treatment from someone who does not perform a check of your medical history, refuses to share their qualifications, or refuses to tell you what medication they will be providing.

Do Anti-Wrinkle Treatments Hurt?
Anti-wrinkle treatments are normally painless. Most people feel very little during anti-wrinkle treatment, though you may experience a small scratching sensation when the needle is inserted.

What Are The Side Effects Of Anti-Wrinkle Treatment?
Most people experience anti-wrinkle treatment with little or no side effects, however, sometimes you may experience:

  • Mild swelling at the injection site
  • Bruising at the injection site
  • Headaches
  • Flu like symptoms
  • Drooping eyelids, or a drooping mouth
  • Sensitive eyes

Most side effects of anti-wrinkle treatments disappear within the first day, but you should always contact a medical professional immediately if you are worried.
