Dr. Jaffar Al-Hashimi
Dr. Jafar Al-Hashimi, or Dr. Jaf as he prefers to be called, studied dentistry at the University of Liverpool before coming to work at our practice in Little Lever where he covers general dentistry, orthodontics, and cosmetic dentistry treatments such as whitening.
Handling nervous patients for him involves empathy, clear communication, and a calm environment. He aims to give constant reassurance and encourages patients to voice any concerns. Dr Jaf also practices relaxation techniques with patients, and encourages any anxious patients to bring a calming distraction such as music.
After a challenging day, Dr. Jaf likes to hit the gym to unwind. Pushing himself physically helps to recharge his batteries by clearing his head and making him focus on the present moment, allowing him to move on from the difficulties of the day. On weekends he enjoys playing basketball.
He has travelled to too many countries to list, but says his favourites were Iraq and Japan.
Dr. Jaf believes in helping others and has engaged in voluntary work with Oxfam, Al-Ayn, and local community youth organisations. If he hadn’t been a dentist, he says he would’ve gone into IT – quite a career change!
