Dr. Amelia Yen

Dr. Amelia Yen graduated from Cardenal Herrera University in Valencia, Spain, in 2019.

After finishing her training and gaining experience in NHS dentistry, Dr Yen learned she had an aptitude for cosmetic treatments. She is especially interested in composite bonding, veneers and crowns for their aesthetic and restorative properties. As well as cosmetic treatments for your teeth, Amelia can provide aesthetic facial treatments such as dermal fillers to help both your smile and your skin look perfect.

Amelia is always looking for new ways to make life better for her patients, which is why she enrolled in our SynTrain programme to earn a PG Diploma in dental implantology, so she can place and restore implants for her patients who struggle with missing teeth.

As a child Dr. Yen was terrified of the dentist, which is why she decided to be one! The more she learned about dentistry, the less scared she became and the more she fell in love with her profession.

Growing up with a phobia of the dentist, Amelia learned how difficult it is for patients to come forward about their fears. She always makes sure that every patient has a happy experience in her chair by treating them the way she wished her scary dentist had treated her. Amelia says that greeting everyone with a smile and making the time to chat, explain everything and reassure them makes a huge difference for people who are frightened. Her biggest source of pride is when she sees a patient who hasn’t seen a dentist due to fear and can finally say, “I’ve finally found a dentist who I’m not scared of.”

She also loves children, and especially enjoys paediatric dental visits. She likes to educate children and teach them how to care for their teeth, forming good habits early that will last them a lifetime. She believes that children need to develop a healthy relationship with their teeth and with dentistry from a young age so that they don’t neglect their teeth in later life due to a fear of the dentist.

As well as crafting beautiful smiles, Amelia also likes crafting art. She likes any artistic pursuit with intricate detail. Years of dentistry have given Amelia the steady confident handwork for delicate projects like sewing and knitting. One of her more unusual interests is collecting butterfly specimens – a hobby which requires concentration and delicate movement.

Outside of dentistry and crafts, Amelia enjoys tennis and travel. She speaks 5 languages; English, Taiwanese, Japanese, Spanish, and Chinese.
