What is Invisalign?
Invisalign is a clear (invisible) aligner system that aims to straighten your teeth without the need for conventional metal braces. It allows you to discreetly adapt and change your smile without needing to tie yourself to a full orthodontic regime.
They are essentially clear removable braces and can straighten your teeth over a dedicated period of time depending on the complexity of your case.
How does it actually work?
Invisalign uses a system of clear aligners that are moulded to your teeth to gradually allow for your teeth to straighten over a set period of time. These plastic aligners move your teeth into the desired position by applying small amounts of pressure over an extended period of time.
The system requires multiple aligners to be made each one tighter than the last allowing for your teeth to straighten over time and help you achieve your cosmetic goals of a beautiful smile!
How much does it cost?
This is highly dependent on your case, which will be assessed in your initial consultation appointment priced at £20 to allow you to have easy access to understand the costs behind a big treatment.
However, generally speaking the costs are as follows:
- Invisalign i7 (7 aligners) : £1750 (Both Arches)
- Invisalign Lite (14 aligners): £2800 (Both Arches)
- Invisalign Full (Unlimited Aligners): £3250 (Both Arches)
- Invisalign Teen (Unlimited Aligners): £3250 (Both Arches)
- Invisalign Package 1 (7 aligners – Whitening – Retainers): £1500
- Invisalign Package 2 (14 aligners – Whitening – Retainers): £2500
- Invisalign Package 3 (Unlimited aligners – Whitening – Retainers): £3000
What are the alternatives?
If you are aiming to change your smile and straighten your teeth you must consider a form of orthodontic treatment. If you choose not to follow the Invisalign route you can pick a variety of alternatives including conventional braces, our 6 month braces protocol and our Inman aligner protocol.
These aim to provide the same outcome as our Invisalign system and have different costs associated which you can find on our pricing page however, if you want a clear aligner that is discreet – Invisalign is one of the finest options in the market.
Alternatively, if you have small gaps you would like to fill on your front teeth you can opt for composite bonding – please read our other blogposts to find out more!
How long does it take?
Again this is mostly dictated by your clinician in your initial consultation appointment. To provide a guide to how long the process will take is unrealistic as it truly is a case by case basis as straightening teeth is a lengthy process.
However, with our Invisalign system the average course of treatment takes between 12-18 months to complete and provide you with a beautiful straight smile. We also provide package deals that supply whitening and retainers to ensure your teeth stay pearly white and don’t move back!
