Dr. Shammi Rouf
Dr Shammi Rouf is one of our most highly qualified Synergy dentists.
She graduated from the University of Sheffield in 2005. After completing Vocational Training, she spent a year as a Senior House Officer in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, giving her invaluable experience in managing complex conditions not normally faced in general practice.
During this time, she passed her examinations to become a Member of the Faculty of Dental Surgery of the Royal College of Surgeons of England. She was even featured in the British Dental Journal after winning a prize from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.
She has been a certified Invisalign provider since 2008, and has been placing implants since 2018. She is a member of the International Team for Implantology and likes to keep up to date with the latest developments in the field.
She attained her MSc in Dental Implantology from the University of Salford and the prestigious ICE institute.
Shammi has dedicated time to helping others reach their maximum potential, and has taught junior dentists when working as an Educational Supervisor to train overseas graduates to the standards required by the GDC.
When faced with a nervous patient, Shammi makes sure to talk through the cause of distress and work out a plan to conquer fear together using kindness, patience, and empathy.
After a rough day at work, Shammi likes to relax by spending time with her family. On weekends, she likes to swim and hike, and enjoys bundling up with a good book and a big pot of coffee! In fact, if she hadn’t have become a dentist, she would’ve liked to write a novel – though she still might still give it a go! Perhaps we’ll catch her name on the Sunday Times Bestseller list in a few years.
Shammi likes to travel the world, and has visited almost every continent on earth. She has always hoped to travel with DentAid to provide dental services in refugee camps. Despite this, Shammi is always humble and says she feels as though she still hasn’t done enough charity work.
