Our treatments at Synergy are always performed by a qualified implantologist using the latest digital dentistry techniques to provide the highest standards of safety and accuracy. In traditional implant surgery, the gumline is usually split to allow access to the jawbone. At Synergy, we use a keyhole surgery style technique, allowing us to only make an incision in the exact site where the implant will be placed. This healing process takes 3 months, but in order to complete your dental work in one visit, many dentists in Turkey skip this important step, putting the final bridgework on immediately. This puts extra stress on the implants and can lead to implant failure and bone damage. In the UK, patients are protected from these dangerous practices by strict regulations, but Turkey does not have these rules.
- Incorrect aftercare – dental implants require frequent monitoring during the healing process. Since dentists in Turkey plan your treatment in a single visit instead of bringing you back to the practice multiple times, you’re more likely to develop an infection.
- Not being able to find treatment in the UK if something goes wrong – many patients who have complications after getting dental treatment abroad and seek a UK dentist to fix it are surprised to learn that their UK dentist will not treat them. This is because it’s almost impossible to know if your treatment has been performed correctly to a UK standard, and trying to fix it may lead to causing more damage. Instead of risking your safety, UK dentists will advise you to return to Turkey and see your original dentist.
