New dental practice enjoying success despite bite of pandemic

A new dental practice in Oldham has been enjoying success as part of the company’s expansion.

The surgery, which can be found on Union Street, is one of four opened by the Synergy Dental Group over the past seven months and one of 11 in total, most of which are based in the North West.

The Oldham practice was opened by the Mayor of Oldham, Cllr Jennifer Harrison, back in November and offers a wide range of dental services.

Dr Zuber Bagasi, Clinical Director of the Synergy Dental Clinics Group, said he was “really delighted” to have a new practice in Oldham.

He added: “Although, like all dentists, we had our restrictions and challenges last year in particular, we wanted to continue our expansion and to continue giving clients the top-class treatment and services they now expect from Synergy.

“We’re delighted with the response from clients in our new areas and look forward to helping hundreds more people across the North West in 2022 and beyond.”

Amongst the services the new practice will offer is Invisalign, an alternative to braces which uses clear plastic to gradually move teeth into a better position. Synergy is in the top one per cent of Invisalign providers in the UK.

Synergy also offers dental implants, teeth whitening, smile makeovers, state-of-the-art digital smile designs and all other aspects of dentistry including general check-ups.

Dr Mateen Ahmed, head dentist at the clinic, said he was “pleasantly surprised” with how busy the practice had been so far.

“I thought the practice could be quite slow, but with the speed we’re going at now, we’re going to add an extra day.”

The clinic is currently open from 9am to 5pm from Mondays to Fridays.

Dr Ahmed, who lives in Rochdale and previously worked in Synergy’s branch in Bury, praised the people of Oldham for helping to grow the business through word of mouth.

He also said he believed the clinic’s success was due in part to the difficulties involving the NHS dental services.
